Location: The camp is located at Camp J.O.Y. Inc. at 119 Polecat Hollow Rd. about six miles east of Lynchburg, turning right off Hwy. 130 on Booneville Rd., then left on You may also find the camp turning left off of Hwy 231 on Booneville Rd, then right on 119 Polecat Hollow Rd. Or take New Herman Rd. all the way to a dead end. Turn right and then the next left to Camp Joy.

Health & Safety: Your child’s health and safety are important to us. There is a small creek that runs through the camp. Please let us know on your application of all restricted activities, allergies, medications presently taking, and recent illness or injury for your camper(s). First-aid supplies will be available. Children will be under adult supervision at all times.

Accommodation: There are six total cabins (four plus a double-decker), with bunk beds to hold 20 each. Each cabin has 3 showers, 3 sinks, and 3 toilets. Please go to www.campjoyinc.com for all other questions about the cabins and facilities.

Visitors: Campers are not allowed to invite their friends to visit. However, it is strongly encouraged that those friends are invited to apply for camp! We would love to have your friends join you for the week! All adult visitors must check in with the Camp Director/Counselor. There is a charge of $5 for each meal for visitors invited to stay.

Ages: All students 18 and under are eligible to attend camp. Campers 5 years of age and under may participate in camp but must be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian at all times. Campers 8 years of age may stay overnight without a parent/guardian.

Camp Schedule: A Day at the camp will include plenty of fun! It will also include several moments to worship and study God’s Word! We will study the Bible in classes and have morning and evening devotionals directed around one theme. Several fun and sports activities that may include wading in the creek, swimming, bounce houses, hikes, football, volleyball, horseshoes, softball, water balloon wars, tug of war, and too many other things to mention! We will also give you free time to meditate or hang out with friends during the day. Of course, we will feed you three great meals a day. We will also have extra drinks and snacks available.

What to Bring: Each camper should bring a hard copy Bible, sheets/blanket, (or sleeping bag) pillow, towels, toiletries, enough clothes, good walking shoes for hiking and or creek, a flashlight, and bring a reusable water bottle to keep with you. This will cut down on trash and we will use coolers. Whatever else you think you might need, bring it. All medications will be kept in the camp safe.

Do NOT Bring: Each camper should refrain from bringing any electronics, knives, guns, fireworks, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, drug paraphernalia, or anything else a reasonable person should not bring to camp. Any of these items will be confiscated and campers will be sent home. No smoking/dipping/vaping is allowed on the campgrounds at any time. We ask visitors to observe this rule.

Cell phones: while we realize cell phones are very common, there is little to no reception at Camp Joy. Cell phones will only distract from the purpose of Bible camp. Please leave electronics at home.
