City Heights lacks the amount of park space required based on population. The quality of our parks is also lacking. We are running a campaign to revitalize the Officer Jeremy Henwood Memorial Park located next to the City Heights Recreation Center; in the area know as the "City Heights Urban Village." This is one of the most utilized parks in our community!
We need the City of San Diego to allocate $1M dollars for the project to:
Add 15 tress along Fairmount Ave
Add 3 shade structures, plus tables and benches
Upgrade both playgrounds to meet National Playground Safety Institute (NPSI) Standards
Add swings, spring riders, and rubber grounds
Update the bathrooms for cleanliness and safety
Update the grass
Add hydration stations
- Add trash and recycling bins
- Add 8 light stands
