2026 Dubuque County Kiddie Calf Registration
REGULATIONS:
1. Exhibitors must be between 3 years old by July 1st 2026 and has not yet reached 4th grade as of September 15th, 2025. 
2. Dairy or Beef calves must have been born after November 30th, 2025
3. Participants must be pre registered prior to Saturday, July 18th, 2026 in either the traditional walk through show OR the competitive kiddie calf show.

4. Vet CHECK-Calves must be on the grounds by 12:45 pm on Saturday, August 1st. They will be released after the show.
       -Please have animals arrive no earlier than 12:00PM (unless showing in open class dairy show). 
      -A vet check and check in will take place at the bottom gates of the livestock entrance from 12:00-12:45 on Saturday, August 1st, 2026.  
       - All calves must be free of infectious or contagious conditions
      -The vet check is provided for free. 
 5. Check In- Participants will receive a name badge (worn during show) and goody bag following completed check at the gate. 
6.PARKING: please pull trailers/trucks east/west direction in the parking lot.  Keep animals on trailers/ near trucks until the start of the show.  

7. SHOW-Show to start following the open class dairy show -we are planning on starting at 1:00pm.
We will have any participants who registered for the 'walk through show' enter the ring (west side entrance) as we have done in the past. We will require name badges for participants which we will handout at check in.  Following our walk through show,  children participating in our competitive show will be asked to enter the show ring (children participating in the competitive show are asked not to participate in the walk through show).

Walk Through Show:  This show is great for participants of all ages and levels!
1. Children will walk animal around the ring once and stop in front of the crowd to answer questions on the microphone (what is your name, what is your calf's name)?
2. Adults may assist.

Competitive kiddie calf show: This will be great for kids who are ready to transition into something more challenging. The competitive show will be broken into 2 or 3 groups. 
1. Children will be asked to lead their animals independently with show halters around the show ring.  
2.Children will be judged based on showmanship.
3. Children will be asked to answer simple questions such as… What’s your calf’s birthday? How do you care for your animal?

Safety-
Children must wear closed toed shoes for safety. NO sandals.
