In this time of national divide and discord, we are inviting people of different viewpoints to record StoryCorps conversation with each other. We are doing this to help people get to know each other as human beings and remember our common humanity. Your willingness to get to know each other through these interviews represents "One Small Step." That may help to disrupt disconnections and reduce isolation that some are feeling in our country. We believe that we have more in common than divides us and that treating those with whom we disagree with decency and respect is essential to a functioning democracy.
