Guidelines for the Edible Book Festival
Note: Towson University students, Harford Community College students, and Cecil College Students will be eligible to win prizes for their entries. You may register in advance—via this form—but you may bring your entry day-of without advanced registration.

• Entries must be an edible representation of a book series, novel, play, novella, or short story. The submissions that contestants present must be at least 70% edible to be considered for a prize. For example, a contestant could not submit a drawing or diorama with a single cupcake and be eligible to win a category.

• Between 7:30am and 11:30am on April 11th, contestants will bring their submission to the Learning Commons area at TU- Northeastern MD. Contestants should report in at the Welcome Desk to officially register their submission to be judged.

• Contestants will sign a release form giving their consent to have their submissions photographed and shared on TU- Northeastern MD, and Towson University, social media. Additionally, contestants must fill out an entry form and check ingredients to help those with allergies/dietary restrictions determine if an edible book is safe for them to consume.

• Each edible book will be placed on display, labeled, photographed, and judged. Afterwards, there will be a session to eat each edible book. Contestants are also free to bring a copy of the inspirational source material to place next to their creation.

• The categories for the contest are: Best in Show, Most Appetizing, Best Pun, and Most Literary. Prizes include a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card for Best in Show, and $15 Barnes & Noble gift cards for all other categories, and more to be announced!
