Previews of All Acts
EACH ACT WILL BE ASSIGNED A PREVIEW TIME SLOT DURING THE 90 MINUTES OF THE SCHOOL DAY DURING THE WEEK OF FEB 18–22. (No previews on Wed.)
At their assigned time, all performers in the act are to report to the Multipurpose Room. Members of the PTA Talent Show Committee will gather information about the act for show planning. The act will be performed, which means any music needed for the act must be brought with the performers on CD or flash drive.
Each act's preview is expected to last less than 15 minutes. Performers need to report back to class immediately.
If the act involves props, it is optional to bring them. Be prepared to describe the props thoroughly so our Props Manager can record them into the show notes.
Parents/guardians are welcome to attend their student's preview if desired.
Emcees & Volunteers
5TH GRADERS: We are looking for 2-4 emcees who can comfortably and enthusiastically introduce each act! If more than four sign up for master of ceremonies, we will hold tryouts during the Tuesday, Feb 12 recess in the Music Room from 12:20-12:40pm.
STUDENT VOLUNTEER positions are available to help hand out programs, assist with Talent Show DVD orders, help with selling food and beverage and other roles the night of the show.
PARENT VOLUNTEER positions are available to supervise students during Previews, Dress Rehearsal and Talent Show and to help sell concessions. Adults are interspersed into the assigned seating area for performers at Lincoln Auditorium to help manage excitement and escort performers to backstage area, back into theater after performing, and to bathrooms when needed.
Acts with Recorded Music
If your act involves recorded music, you must bring final cut music (less than 3 min) on CD, DVD or flash drive to your Preview. Label your disc or drive with student name(s) and official name of act.
Tips for cutting music in iTunes 12:
Performers who are singing to a recorded track are encouraged —but not required — to use an instrumental or karaoke version of their song. Please review all lyrics to ensure they are appropriate for elementary audience. Committee has right to question lyrics if necessary.
To avoid repetition of popular songs, a committee member will contact you if someone has already signed up with the same song to see if you'd like to consider a different song.
CDs, DVDs and flash drives will be placed in office after Talent Show for pickup.
