Comments submitted by Thursday, October 22, 2015 will be presented to the CORE Board on Friday, October 23, 2015 before CORE submits our request to the US Department of Education on October 30, 2015.
While the CORE districts can seek amendments to our waiver in order to better meet the needs of our students and our school communities, we will do so in line with the original intent and foundational concepts of the CORE Waiver. We also need to be mindful of federal guidance on ESEA Waivers (more info here: http://www2.ed.gov/policy/elsec/guid/esea-flexibility/index.html). The U.S. Department of Education will consider each of our amendments, though it is possible that some of them will not be approved, in which case the original language in the CORE Waiver will remain intact.
