The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC), First 5 Marin, and Marin Community Foundation are offering a training for service providers about the “Public Charge” law used to penalize immigrants who use government-funded programs. As you know, the current administration has drafted a proposed rule to expand the types of services and care that could cause an immigrant to be deemed a “public charge.”

This training will review what the Public Charge law is and when it can impact an immigrant. We will discuss how the law is applied, the proposed changes, and strategies for working with immigrant families.
