Call for Proposals: LWI One-Day Workshops

The LWI One-Day Workshops Committee is now accepting proposals for presentations! We have 7 host sites this Spring—3 in-person (Akron, Notre Dame, and Mitchell Hamline) and 4 virtual (Suffolk, Stetson, Florida, and Research & Scholarship Working Group). Please view the list of hosts with their accompanying themes HERE

To apply, please complete this submission form by March 3, 2025. Acceptances will go out the week of March 24, 2025.

You may apply to present at more than one location, but if there aren’t enough spots for all speakers, applicants presenting only once will be given priority at each location.

LWI is committed to contributing to a legal writing discipline that is equitable and inclusive. LWI recognizes that increasing diversity brings added intellectual, scholarly, cultural, social, and economic benefits to the academic and lawyering communities. As a result, LWI especially encourages proposals from underrepresented groups and speakers who have not presented in the past, including practitioners.

Are you willing to serve as a mentor for a new professor or a practitioner who wants help developing or practicing a presentation?
Clear selection
One-Day Workshops are a unique presentation experience. Therefore, the One-Day Workshop Committee encourages presenters new to the One-Day Workshops to work with a mentor who can help a new presenter shape a proposal so it has the best chance of being selected. Would you like to work with a mentor?
Clear selection
The One-Day Workshops are an opportunity for those interested in skills teaching in legal education to gather and share ideas in an informal setting while also helping to raise money to help fund activities and services for LWI's members. Therefore, host school faculty and presenters are expected to pay a registration fee, and refunds are only made in extraordinary circumstances.

If you wish to attend a workshop only if your proposal is accepted, kindly wait for a decision on your proposal before registering.
