The schedule for the day:

12-2 PM: Kick Out the Clowns Event at UW Library Mall
2-3 PM: March to Capitol
3-5 PM: No Kings! rally at the Capitol

Volunteer trainings (for volunteers other than marshals) will be offered online at 7pm CT on Tuesday, June 10, and 7pm CT on Wednesday, June 11 (you only need to attend one of these). Zoom links will be sent to you via email. Trainings for marshals is separate (see below).

These are the volunteer opportunities I can do:

Marshal/De-escalation: Support the circus, march, and rally by helping with crowd control and wayfinding throughout the day. Assist in de-escalating challenging situations or counter-protesters. This role requires a volunteer training, being on your feet / mobile for a number of hours and a commitment to nonviolence. This role requires training (see below).

Tent Volunteers: Help set up/breakdown and run the volunteer tent. This will include checking in other volunteers and distributing materials, and directing people to bathrooms/water.

Logistics, i.e. help set up and move equipment

Accessibility: Support and manage the ADA seating area, assist with handing out supplies and answering questions in the ADA tent, help with coordinating ADA bus shuttle, assist with escorting participants during the march.

Photography/videography

Legal Observers: People who volunteer for this role should ALREADY be appropriately trained.

Medic: People who volunteer for this role should have medical experience and/or be First Aid certified. Medics should also have their own emergency medical equipment supplies.

Donate $$ to purchase supplies, including sound system, stage, snacks for volunteers (see below)

Provide wagon(s) to transport supplies

Volunteer marshals: the mandatory marshal, safety, and de-escalation training will be offered online on Thursday, June 12, at 6:30 pm CT. Only those volunteer marshals who have completed the training will be allowed to marshal. Information about registering for the training will be sent closer to June 12. On the day of the event, volunteer marshals will arrive early to get additional training (10:30 for first shift, 1:15 for second shift)
