Some of the question may appear odd, but are there either to do with wedding details or cover a legal issue associated with registration or calling banns. If you would assist us with as much information as possible, it will help reduce administration later on.

Applying for a wedding
Important Information for Couples

Before completing this form, please review the following legal requirements for a Church of England wedding:

1.         Residency or Qualifying Connection: At least one partner must have a qualifying connection to the church, such as living in the parish, being on the Electoral Roll, or having a family connection.

2.         Legal Preliminaries: Most couples need banns read on three Sundays before the wedding. Some cases may require a Common License or Superintendent Registrar’s Certificate.

3.         Previous Marriages: If either partner was previously married, a discussion with the Rector will be needed.

4.         Nationality Requirements: Non-British nationals may need additional documentation and permissions.

5.         Marriage Fees: Fees are subject to annual increases (5-10%) and include optional services like flowers or music.
