For me, failure in meeting a goal occasionally triggers my defeatist monkey brain. The trail runs like 'why the fuck did I fail' > 'I messed showing up like I always do since the beginning of time' > 'Maybe it's not meant to be...I am not talented enough.' And then I sit in the corner and mull over other failures.

One way is by setting regular alerts on your Smartphone to remind yourself that you don't need to indulge in negativity. I recommend setting such reminders right away on your mobile device. You can also interrupt your thinking by calling a friend.
What activities will your pursue to cultivate awareness and mindfulness in your life? *
As I mentioned in the bonus lesson, you needn't necessarily adopt meditation. My friend can feel his heart thumping and awareness of every movement in his body on a Football field --- it's meditation for him.
