ESSER III Survey: Stakeholder Feedback
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER 3.0) is providing funding to the state of Pennsylvania and schools to address COVID-19 recovery.
NWSD will receive a portion of these funds, but it does come with strict guidelines for how it can be used.
ESSER III funding is available to help safely reopen schools and address the impacts of the pandemic on students’ academic, social, emotional and mental health needs, including interventions to address “learning loss” — delays in students' academic progress related to the pandemic — and support equity with services and supports for student populations that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
The NWSD must submit a detailed plan to the PA Department of Education explaining how it will use ESSER funds to address student needs, including learning loss related to COVID-19. The funds received can be used from now until 9/30/2024.
Therefore, the NWSD is seeking feedback from stakeholders, such as parents, students, employees and community members, to assist in developing its plan, and specifically the use of these funds.
Recently, additional funds have been made available to states and schools to be used specifically on social, emotional, or mental health supports, professional development for staff to address the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students, reading improvement, summer school and after school programming.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your thoughts about needs, resources and effective investments for this one-time funding.
Stakeholders wishing to participate in this process should complete the survey by 5PM ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2021.
