Despite the distances that separate us, it’s undeniable that Canadian virologists are a community with a history of being collegial and strongly supportive of early-career investigators. However, we have not always been effective in organizing to compete for team grants, or in providing a unified voice that might influence the direction of CIHR funding opportunities. The end of face-to-face CIHR panels means that we have to work harder to keep our community together.
We are contacting you today because we are interested in creating a Canadian Society of Virology (CSV), and we would like your feedback on this idea. We strongly believe that a CSV, with an annual meeting at different locations across the country, would help maintain and strengthen our community, leading to new collaborations and team grants. The increased exposure provided by the CSV annual meeting may provide opportunities to raise our profile with funders.
Filling this form will ensure that we have your contact information for future updates or membership.
Looking forward to meet you in a future CSV event.
