TL4DL and CTEPS 2025-2026 Application

CTEPS (Classroom Teachers Enacting Positive Solutions), part of the TL4DL network, provides educators with an opportunity and a stipend to develop leadership skills while staying engaged in what they love most: teaching.

Through action research and design thinking, teachers lead from where they are by exploring deeper learning practices, expanding their impact beyond their classroom, and connecting with educators across the district. If you have a challenge that motivates you, whether it's increasing student engagement, designing creative curriculum, or instructional innovation, this is your chance to turn that passion into leadership.

Teachers Leading for Deeper Learning with CTEPS
Every student deserves vibrant learning experiences every day.  As we work to meet the promises made by the Portrait of a Graduate, teachers will lead their peers to improve their practice and the systems within which their work lives, to make this vision a reality.  This requires hard work and persistence.  We demand resilience and a growth mindset of our students, and teachers need that, too. Through the lenses of design thinking and action research, CTEPS offers you an opportunity to tackle a challenge in you classroom, team, department, school, discipline, or district.  We offer personalized coaching in a highly communal and fairly compensated and structured environment.  We invite you to join us.  We ask for a few commitments in return.
The Commitments:
We meet regularly and ask you to attend after school on Thursdays at the FCPS Warehouse at 1126 Russell Cave Road from 4:30-6:15pm along with two release days, with a sub paid for by the initiative. Though we understand emergencies come up, attendance at each session is crucial to building the community our work depends on to flourish. *
We want to pay you for your time. We compensate you $25 an hour for up to 60 hours (40 in person and 20 to work on your own) for a total of $1500. We ask that you turn in your time within the week these hours are worked. You should claim time for our work together and time you spend at home working on your project. *
We will work together to go through all of the stages of design thinking and craft an action research project. You do not need to have one in mind before you apply, though you may. Then, you will write about and share widely what you learn from this work. *
