2026 LBY Matcha Madness 5K Fundraiser Run/Walk
Welcome to the registration page for the Lao Baptist Youth 5K Fundraiser Run/Walk! 

Lao Baptist Youth (LBY) is a ministry empowering the second-generation Lao believers to serve the Lord by connecting them with other Christians, helping them grow in their faith, and challenging them to discover their gifts and honor God with their life. This is our fundraiser to help raise money for our annual Labor Day Retreat camp held every Labor Day weekend. This year LBY Labor Day Retreat will be hosted at Camp Paron on Friday, September 5th to Monday, September 7th!

We are partnering with Kairos Run Club for this event! 
Kairos Run Club is a Dallas-based run club founded in April 2025 with a vision to inspire people to take action in their lives and embrace the perfect moment—because the perfect time is always right now. We believe movement is more than miles; it’s a catalyst for growth, connection, and purpose. At Kairos, we value health, community, and above all, authenticity — encouraging one another to live fully, show up as we are, and pursue life with intention. 

We’re excited to bring together all runners of all skill levels for a fun day and fellowship. Whether you're a seasoned runner or new to the lifestyle, this event is for everyone! For those who have participated in official races before, please note that this is a casual run, so we won’t be using timing chips or bib technology. Below is all of the information that you will need, so please read through everything thoroughly.

Event Date and Time: Saturday, March 14th, 8:00am-12:00pm

*This is NOT a timed race just a fun run for the community to fundraise for camp!*

Guaranteed Shirt Deadline: February 20th
All are allowed to register on the same-day but may not receive a shirt at 5K.

This will be available the day before the event, and a friend may pick up your bib and shirt on your behalf. If you are unable to pick up the day before, pickup will also be available on event day; however, to ensure the event runs smoothly, we highly encourage participants to pick up their items the day before. 

General Schedule
Time:  8:00-8:40 am- Check in for 5K (REQUIRED)
                                *Please be here within this time frame to ensure a smooth check-in process please! 
             8:45-8:55 am - Announcements
             9:00am - 5K official start time
             10:00am - Matcha rewards (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and costume winner
                                *Post race hangout, shop vendors, sponsors, and silent auction
             12pm - Tear down and clean up

The 5K will be happening alongside our March market. If running or walking isn’t your thing, feel free to stop by and enjoy the market instead!

Pricing - $45 (This includes a bib for fun and a free shirt!)

Payment:
- Venmo: officiallaobaptistyouth
- Cash and card payments will be made the day of the event at check-in
- Online Venmo payments will be paid upon filling out the google form (Payment in advance recommended)

What to bring:
- Appropriate Attire: Wear comfortable athletic clothing and running/tennis shoes. Consider layering in case the weather changes!  
- Cash & Different Forms of Payments: We will have opportunities for you to purchase merchandise and products from different vendors/booths and there will be a silent auction table!
- Water Bottle: Stay hydrated throughout the day. There will be water at starting and halfway points.
- Positive Attitude: Most importantly, come ready to have fun, meet new people, and support your fellow runners!

We want everyone to have a fun and safe environment! We encourage all family, friends, and community members to come out and support the runners! Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines or enjoying the energy of the event, your presence will make the day even more amazing.
