We are committed to ensuring that every student is equipped for success after high school. Through Ready Schools, we are empowering students to identify passions, embrace challenges with resilience, and confidently pursue goals through relevant, authentic learning. Ready Schools is a framework of strategies to expand learning beyond the walls of our classrooms.

We understand our responsibility as educators to ensure economic prosperity for our region and we believe that by preparing students to enter the world equipped for success, we are meeting that need. Innovative approaches to learning require systemic collaboration and ultimately benefit the community as a whole.

The following form outlines the many ways you may partner with Edgewood Schools through our Ready Schools strategies. Please indicate what aligns with your organizational goals. We look forward to working with you!

Ways to partner with Edgewood Schools personally:

CLASSROOM CAREER PRESENTER: Share knowledge or experiences with students about your professional journey, educational background, or skills used to be successful in your role. TIME: From single 30 minute presentation

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING (PBL) PARTNER: Collaborate with students virtually or in-person to kick off a PBL unit by posing to students a relevant challenge your organization faces, or serve as a subject-matter expert to scaffold student problem-solving on an as-needed basis. TIME: Flexible, from 30-minute meeting to periodic check-ins.

CAREER PANEL MEMBER: Join an industry-specific panel or event to showcase information about your role, workplace or sector as it aligns with relevant curriculum. TIME: One hour panel to a one-day event.

FIELD TRIP HOST: Work with school personnel to plan for a class or grade level of students to visit your organization to learn about the role you play in the community, and how their strengths could contribute to your purpose in the future. TIME: Average field trip times are 1-2 hours on-site depending on group size.

HIGH SCHOOL INTERNSHIP HOST: Invite 1-2 high school students to shadow one or more roles or otherwise engage in on-site learning experiences. TIME: High school internships are semester-long and typically include 1-2 hours/day of on-site learning.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP MENTOR: Serve as a resource to high school business students as they develop and refine plans for the student-run enterprises. TIME: Weekly or bi-weekly check-in meetings, virtually or in-person.

STEAM-BASED LEARNING PARTNER: Work with students in a hands-on capacity through specific classroom activities, or out-of-school opportunities such as Girls Coding Club, Robotics Team practices, or STEAM family night events. TIME: From a one-time evening event to weekly one-hour practices

TECHNICAL EXPERT/TRAINER: Lead tool-specific training sessions for teachers or students on digital design software, production equipment, fabrication tools, etc. TIME: 1-2 hours/session.

Ways to partner with Edgewood Schools financially:

SPONSOR A PROGRAM OR CLUB: Provide sponsorship to help sustain specific enrichment opportunities such as a robotics team, broadcast team, or coding club participation fee.

COMMISSION A STUDENT-LED SERVICE: Is there a need our students could meet for your organization in the form of a video product, digital design, printed product, or fabricated item such as laser cut/engraved item?

DONATE OR FUND CONSUMABLE MATERIALS FOR INNOVATIVE LEARNING SPACES: From cardstock paper and glue to 3D printer filament and heat-transfer vinyl, help us provide students with tools to create market-ready prototypes.

DONATE TO STUDENT-ENTREPRENEUR SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Provide financial support to help compensate high school students hired to work in the Mustang Coffee Corral, a student-run enterprise.
