SMYP Application Spring 2024

Class Dates, 8 Saturdays: April 6, April13, April 20th, April27, May 4, May 11, May 18, May 25

Class Time: 10am-12pm

Deadline for submission of application March 15th

IMPORTANT: Submitting an application for SMYP does NOT guarantee registration.

Acceptance notifications and class time will be sent to parents/guardians by March 30th.

The free Saturday Morning Youth Program is made possible by the Mary K. Bowman Historical and Fine Arts Fund. This generous grant pays the cost of your child’s participation. Because of this, perfect attendance is expected, greatly appreciated, and rewarded.

IMPORTANT PARENTAL PLEDGE AND AGREEMENT. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

I pledge the following:

 - My child will attend all classes. If my child needs to miss class to due sickness, I will CALL the Museum at 301-739-5727 before the start of class. If my child has two unexcused absences, I understand the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts views such as a forfeit of participation and will give the open spot to a child on the waiting list at the discretion of the teacher.

 - My child will maintain excellent behavior and abide by the safety and etiquette guidelines of the Museum, which can be found at http://wcmfa.org/visit/policies/.

 - I will drop my child off promptly at arrival and dismissal.

 - I, or whomever I designated, will sign my child in AND out of class.

To the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, A non-profit institute whose address is 401 Museum Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.  Parent acknowledges that (I) they have enrolled their child(ren) in classes, workshops, programs and/or events to be offered by and/or at the Museum,  (II) they are willing to waive and to release the Museum and its agents from all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, losses, damages and costs that may arise from any and all injuries and damages sustained by the child(ren) while attending the classes, workshops, programs and/or events.

                Therefore, in consideration of the instruction to be provided by the Museum to the Student and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, Student, for themselves, their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) hereby AGREES that the Museum and its agents and employees shall have no liability whatsoever to the Student for any injury or damage to the Student or to any property of the Student sustained by the Student while attending the classes, workshops, programs and/or events, and hereby RELEASES the Museum and its agents and employees from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, losses, damages and costs that may arise from any and all injuries and damages sustained by them while attending the course whether at the Museum or an on-site location.

               I, the undersigned, hereby AGREE to the RELEASE of any and all photographs taken during the classes, workshops, programs and/or events, filming, and/or videotaping for Washington County Museum of Fine Arts publicity purposes, i.e., public service announcements, advertising, printed materials and other uses, and understand that the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, a nonprofit organization, will use these photographs, films, and/or videotape to promote the Museum, its exhibitions and programs.
