Purpose: The AppJam+ Showcase, powered by Dreams for Schools, is the culmination of a 10-week process whereby college students guide middle and high-school students in the making of a mobile app, providing mentorship as well. Students get to present their work at a showcase, supported by their parents, school board members, community partners, and congressional representatives. Volunteers will be needed to photograph and film this event.
Location: Each showcase will take place at a venue in Orange County.
Key Responsibilities: Photographers will be asked to take team photos, general attendee and event photos, and photos of the students presentations. Videographers will be asked to film the event, obtaining a general recap of the showcase.
Qualifications: Previous experience in photography or videography and willingness to work at a free or discounted rate.
Benefits: Volunteers will receive dinner and t-shirts, and will be invited to Dreams for Schools’ annual volunteer appreciation dinner. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to have their business promoted at the event.
