Join the SciMMA Community
The Community Planning for Scalable Cyberinfrastructure to support Multi-Messenger Astrophysics (SCiMMA) project invites you to join a discussion of community needs, use cases, and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration as we identify cyberinfrastructure needed to fully exploit current facilities and next-generation observatories for MMA.

Activity Area White Papers
We are thinking of the following 5 activity areas, each of which will write a document. Content from each of these documents will them be pulled together into an overall community white paper. If you want to contribute to one of these area white papers, please sign up below.

Systems: Integrating applications and middleware for automation, visualization, monitoring, and coordination of MMA campaigns.

Data Management, Communication and Collaboration: Facilitating access to and analysis of heterogeneous, high-volume, high-velocity data sets by globe-spanning, cross-disciplinary teams in dynamic collaborations. Enabling alerts and responses with automatic planning and execution to achieve adaptive, distributed, rapid-response observing campaigns.

Analysis, Inference, and Machine Learning: Integrating data science algorithms, inference methods, and statistical tools to enable transformative discovery and interpretation.

Modeling and Theory: Engaging theory and modeling communities with ongoing observing campaigns to enhance the impact of data collection on understanding astrophysical phenomena through multi-messenger observations.

Education, Training, and Workforce Development: Building capacity and diversity in MMA through education, mentoring, course development and public outreach.

Management: Running the institute

Do you think we've missed something important? Or perhaps we've divided areas in a way that doesn't make sense to you? Or maybe a part of one our suggested areas should be pulled out as a new top-level area?
Please enter any suggestions for changes to the activity areas
