Lottery period was open from February 19 - March 3.
- You will rank below your class preferences 1-6 (1 being most to 6 as least preferred).
- Leave blank any classes you don't wish to attend, the more you rank the better your odds as you'll be entered for the drawing of each one you select.
- Limit to one submission per person.
- We will use an AI prompted database query to randomize the selection from everyone who submits.
- On March 6th, those who are placed in spots at selection will be sent an email from camps@improvutopia.org to register via our private portal and claim their spot.
- This is when you can specify all your accommodation requests and add on interests.
- You will have 24 hours to secure your spot.
- ADD THIS EMAIL TO YOUR CONTACTS NOW SO YOU DON'T MISS ANYTHING.
- The remaining folks will be put into a randomized wait list for their class interests.
- If a spot goes unclaimed, we will move onto the wait list until all available spots at this time are full.
- Folks who miss the window to register will go back on our wait list.
- Once our lottery period has completed - we'll notify everyone of their waitlist status.
- After March 3rd, our wait list will continue to be available for anyone to join anytime.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
Yosemite is a very popular camp and sells out almost immediately. Unfortunately, many people due to work schedules and life obligations find it difficult to compete with the demand and miss out year after year. We want to assure equitable access to our camp experiences and stay true to our mission of inclusivity. This change helps us create opportunities for a diverse range of campers, making sure everyone has a chance to experience the magic of camp. We’re committed to fostering a welcoming, supportive community, and this system allows us to better serve new and returning campers alike.
