Internship Interest Form
Welcome, and thanks for your interest in interning with the Alabama Appleseed Center for Law & Justice! Please read all of the following instructions carefully.

To apply for an internship with Alabama Appleseed, please complete this 2-part checklist:
1) Fill out and submit this Internship Interest Google Form.
2) Send an email to admin@alabamaappleseed.org with BOTH your resume AND a writing sample attached. Please make the email's subject line "Internship application materials." Writing samples may be between 1-5 pages in length and focus on any topic, so long as they demonstrate your writing skill.

We accept interns for three different cycles throughout the year. The respective deadlines are as follows:
- Summer 2024 (May-Aug) Deadline: February 16, 2024, at 11:59pm CST

Please note that if you would like to be considered for multiple cycles, ONE Interest Form submission and email are sufficient (there is an opportunity for you to select multiple cycles below). Please note that only fully completed applications (Interest Form submission plus email with resume and writing sample) will be considered.  

Alabama Appleseed does not have a set number of interns that we accept in any given cycle; we accept interns for concrete project assignments based upon current staff needs. We will seriously consider all applicants who apply for an internship: past interns have included college freshmen, 3L law students, MSW students, PhD candidates, and more. Regardless of where you are in your educational journey, we invite you to apply and we encourage you to share your skills and interests with us.

As we seek to cultivate the next generation of leadership in our state, we have a strong preference for students who are attending school in Alabama or who are originally from Alabama. Our most successful interns are strong writers, good researchers, and independent thinkers who are able to quickly comprehend assignments and take ownership of their projects. Evidence of administrative or organizational skills will also boost the strength of an application.

All applicants for a given internship cycle can expect to hear back from us within 4 weeks after the stated deadline for that application cycle. Thank you for your interest in interning with us. We look forward to reviewing your application materials!
