Come ormai ogni anno, APECS Italia ripropone il suo Convegno Nazionale, nei giorni
08-09 Ottobre 2026, in
modalità mista, in presenza presso la
Sede Centrale del CNR (Piazzale Aldo Moro 7, Roma) e da remoto.
Quest'anno il Convegno viene organizzato in collaborazione con il CNR e rientrerà all'interno di un più grande evento dedicato all’intera comunità della ricerca polare italiana. Nei giorni 5-7 ottobre 2026, nella stessa sede che ospiterà il nostro convegno, si terrà infatti la I Conferenza Nazionale Polare, “Poli di conoscenza: dalle terre estreme alle sfide globali”, iniziativa che nasce con l’obiettivo di creare un momento strutturato di confronto tra comunità scientifica, istituzioni e stakeholder, finalizzato a rafforzare il coordinamento nazionale e a contribuire alla definizione di una visione condivisa per il futuro della ricerca polare.
Il Convegno è gratuito e per la prima volta in lingua inglese e invitiamo studenti, dottorandi e assegnisti/post-doc, specialmente nell'ambito delle scienze della terra, della vita, chimiche, fisiche e umanistiche, a prenderne parte, in un ambiente giovane e dall'ampio respiro. Ovviamente, l'invito è aperto anche a tutti gli appassionati o a chiunque faccia piacere ascoltare, in qualità di uditori, i recenti sforzi scientifici nelle Scienze Polari (in particolare delle Scienze matematiche, fisiche e naturali).

As every year, APECS Italy is pleased to organize its National Symposium, which will take place on 8–9 October 2026 in a hybrid format, both in person at the CNR Headquarters (Piazzale Aldo Moro 7, Rome) and online.
This year, the Symposium is being organized in collaboration with the CNR and will be part of a larger event dedicated to the entire Italian polar research community. Indeed, from 5 to 7 October 2026, at the same venue that will host our Symposium, the 1st Italian Polar Conference, “Poles of Knowledge: From Extreme Lands to Global Challenges”, will take place. This initiative was created with the aim of providing a structured forum for discussion among the scientific community, institutions, and stakeholders, with the goal of strengthening national coordination and contributing to the development of a shared vision for the future of polar research.
The Symposium is free of charge and, for the first time, will be held in English. We invite undergraduate and graduate students, PhD candidates, and research fellows/postdoctoral researchers, particularly in the fields of Earth sciences, life sciences, chemistry, physics, and the humanities, to take part in this event, which offers a young and broad-minded environment. Of course, the invitation is also open to enthusiasts and to anyone interested in attending as a listener to learn about recent scientific efforts in Polar Sciences (particularly within the mathematical, physical, and natural sciences).
