This workshop for both parents and professionals explores the barriers that may be preventing children from having positive peer relationships and friendships. We'll explore how to help children to recognize and overcome these barriers, the important role that adults play in social coaching and tips on how to teach children social independence and increase their social success. The workshop will focus on supporting elementary school-aged children (7-12), however parents of a child or teen of any age would benefit from the content.
The workshop is chock full of social coaching tips and simple language changes for kids that are easily generalized to any setting. Participants will leave with easily implemented and immediately actionable ideas that support kids in attaining, maintaining and sustaining positive peer relationships and friendships.
