Model Orientation
Greetings:
Thank you for your interest in modeling with us!
Below is a short bio about Collar City Coterie and a model orientation form. Fill it out as best you can and we will get back in the next week or two to discuss modeling possibilities. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to us at CollarCityCoterie@gmail.com.
We look forward to collaborating with you!

CCC Bio:
Collar City Coterie is a peer-supported artist collective, reminiscent of guilds, social clubs, and artist salons of times past, operating out of Troy, NY. Despite being modeled after exclusive society clubs, the CCC is made to be an inclusive and affirmative space and we welcome creatives of all skill levels, backgrounds, and monetary needs through our doors. The costumed figure events and enrichment trips we host are aimed at growing the portfolios of local artists and models and provide additional opportunities for networking. Our goal is to expand our offerings and provide more professional support and mutual aid as we move along. By combining some of the visual development techniques of early animation studios with the enchanting spirit of 19th-century burlesque theatres and the local significance of Leyendecker’s Arrow Collar ads, we are laying the foundation to a unique community, where creatives can gather around a shared vision while refining and discovering their own voices. We are innovating upon what an ethical and supportive artist collective can look like.

CCC MODELING GUIDELINES

 Modeling Fee:

CCC pays $120 per session. This covers 3 hours of event modeling and up to 1 hour of dressing, rehearsal posing and CCC photography beforehand.

Booking Dates & Session Information:

There are two different types of modeling events within CCC:

1. Soirée Sessions entail a fully produced theatrical set at the Collar City Coterie Studio in Troy, which takes place over the 3rd and 4th Saturday of each month, with a commitment to both sessions. These are theme-specific events, often with stage props, where we collaborate with models on crafting a story scene, like a form of freeze frame theatre.
2. Sideshow Sessions are our more casual events hosted at Yellow Lab Vintage & Books in Troy, which takes place on the 2nd Saturday of each month. This is a single night event with no pre-planned set, although we may include available props from the venue. This event is intended to be a laid-back environment where newer models can practice their modeling, with potential for future collaboration on our Soirée Sessions.

Costuming & Character:

We are looking to collaborate with models who already have costumes available or are open to creating one. Costumes should have a focus on original character work. Please reference our style board below for the 2025 year. We are open to most concepts, including risque, with the exception of contemporary fashion and copyrighted IP. Even if you don’t have a costume available, please still apply as there are occasional events in which we will craft the full production, including the costume and accessories.

Modeling:

In general, our models pose for 20 minutes at a time, with 5 minute breaks in between, for the full 3 hour session. There is flexibility in this standard, and please let us know what timing balance works best for you. Poses may be seated, lounging, or standing, with the possibility of using physical supports such as stands to assist with more challenging poses.

Photography, Social Media & Crediting:

Photography is a must for participation, but if you have concerns please reach out to us with specifics and we may be able to accommodate. CCC takes photos and 3D scans of our sessions and our models for social media promotion and our personal portfolio. The Artist Attendees are also welcome to take photos for their own personal reference to complete their work from the sessions. Models are welcome to charge extra for this service specifically, determined by the model, generally between the amounts of $5-25 per Artist Attendee. All of the CCC taken media associated with your session is available upon request, with a few guidelines for posting online and in printed portfolios:

Credit and link to CCC anytime you share media to the public from our events.

If you would like to post artwork from any of our Artist Attendees, properly credit the work with their name and a possible link to socials. This information will be provided to you along with the artwork files.

Risqué Sets:

CCC is an adult-oriented space and you are welcome to pitch to us a risque concept with exposed body parts. If this is the case, we will work with you to present the photography in an acceptable manner for our socials.

Do you agree to the CCC Modeling Guidelines above?
