Pay Our Interns (POI) is a bipartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for an increase in the amount of paid internships in our government, for-profit, and nonprofit sectors. POI serves as a research platform, advocacy guide, and internship database for students and young professionals across the country.
This will not be a regular internship. The intern will not be fetching coffee or making copies. Intern must possess strong writing skills and research skills. You will use these skills to help release our Congressional Paid Internship Initiative, 50 State Campaign, and assist our founder with daily tasks.
We are a small team and this means you will be a vital role in helping Pay Our Interns to push our agenda forward. Your experience will include and are not limited to: Designing Graphics on CanvaVideo editing Maintaining media contacts and pitchingDrafting Proposals & executing plansMeeting with organization leaders and staffers to talk about Pay Our Interns Working on the monthly emails that get sent out to our mail list Maintaining all organization's cloud files up-to-dateDeveloping a social media calendar to have a self sufficient posting systemMaintaining a clean but active social media feedProactively preparing press releasesWorking closely with Comms Director to develop a pitching strategy.
Hours: 25 hours/week required. 10 Week Minimum Commitment Compensation: Work Stipend: $4,000
Expected Start: Mid-May - First Week of June, we can be flexible! Please note this internship is based in D.C. we cannot accommodate remote work.
