3rd Annual Canvass To Get The Word Out About The New York Health Act. We will speak with union members as they line up to march, hand out
New York Health Act flyers, and invite our siblings in labor to a healthcare town hall about the bill
(date TBA).
When: Saturday, September 6th - 9am to 1pm - sign up for a 1+ hour shift below
Where: NYC 44th Street & 5th Ave, North West Corner
What: Come to the address listed above to sign in, pick up flyers, postcards/petitions & a partner, and get your instructions & street assignment. When finished with your shift, return your completed postcards/petitions & unused flyers to us.
The NYC Labor Day March is the perfect place to canvass, IE speak one-on-one with union members about the New York Health Act, to spread awareness and build support for this life-saving bill that will guarantee, truly universal and comprehensive publicly-funded healthcare — including Long-Term-Care, which no union negotiated plan covers — for everyone who lives or works full time in New York State, regardless of employment, citizenship, care needs, age or any other status, and eliminating all work quotas, premiums, deductibles, copays and medical debt.
It's time to take healthcare OFF the bargaining table so we can fight for better wages, benefits and workplace protections!
