Stay up-to-date on the proposal to create a $30 minimum wage and eliminate the tip credit
A handful of NYC Council Members are pushing a $30 minimum wage and eliminating the tip credit – costing restaurants, bars, and nightclubs hundreds of thousands of dollars, even millions, each year.

If this moves forward, small businesses and hospitality jobs will be on the chopping block – and menu prices will surge even higher during an affordability crisis.

Here’s the reality: NYC does not have the legal authority to do this. Legal analysis from the NYC Hospitality Alliance and leading scholars shows the proposal conflicts with state law and decades of precedent – making it unlawful on its face.

If you operate a restaurant, bar, or nightclub and are concerned about this proposal, you must take action, or your voice will not be heard.
