Evaluation Criteria:
Each applicant is considered solely based on information provided in the application. We assess applications along 5 dimensions:
1. Strength of Experience - We value both depth and diversity of experience. We look for significant contributions/personal impact in past roles. We also take your holistic experiences into account (could include meaningful volunteer work, side-projects, personal hobbies, etc.) - not just professional experiences.
2. Thoughtfulness of Responses - We reward candidates who take the application seriously and put in deep thought and effort.
3. Clarity of Expression - Your essays are an opportunity for you to showcase your ability to communicate your thoughts, arguments, and experiences with clarity, creativity, nuance, and structure. We believe that effective written communication is one of the most important business skills that smart generalists can contribute to the startups they join.
4. Motive to Join - Our members clearly understand the value proposition of our community.
5. Value-add to the community - We want people in the community that are also excited to contribute back to everyone else and enjoy helping other people. This could be through extending your personal and professional networks, supporting community operations (i.e. admissions, contributing writing, planning events), or bringing a very unique experience/background and sharing it with the community.
