Saturday Youth Stage Open Showcase: seeking bands, singers, rappers, DJs, spoken-word poets, stand-up comedians welcome. Sunday High School Jazz Showcase: seeking High school Jazz and Blues ensembles, from junior to senior level welcome. Due to stage space restrictions, no more than 10 members.
The Youth Stage is a great opportunity for amateur and semi-professional performers to gain live performance experience; promote their brand and develop your audience; meet other bands, musicians and performers; it is also great practice for VCE/ VET or University assessments! You never know what possibilities could come from the Youth Stage. In fact, the singer Gotye performed on the Youth Stage years ago, and went on to accomplish great things.

APPLICATIONS CLOSE: 11:00pm Friday 5th October 2018
1. The Band and/or Performers must be a minimum of 12 years of age and a maximum of 25 years of age at the time of submitting the application and at the time of performance. 2. Bands and/or Performers performing original pieces will be prioritized for selection over Bands and/or Performers performing covers. 3. The submission of this application does not guarantee participation.4. Applicants will be notified via phone or email of application outcome.5. The Band and/or Performers are to provide a brief statement for the MC to use on the day when introducing them to the stage.6. The Band and/or Performers agree to the Organiser and any affiliated entities recording the Band’s performance for use in their promotional and advertising material.7. The Band and/or Performers agree to their image being used by the Organiser and any affiliated entities for use in promotional and advertising material.8. The Band and/or Performers agree to attend an event briefing meeting 1-2 weeks before the Eltham Festival Youth Stage. At least ONE Band representative and ALL solo performers, must attend the meeting. Time and place to be advised by the Organiser. Alternatively, the Band and/or Performers may send a nominated representative or proxy to attend the meeting on their behalf, however, the Organiser must be informed of this at least 7 days prior to the meeting. In such a case, the Band and/or Performers and the attending nominated representative or proxy are solely responsible for coordinating the transfer of information and updates from the meeting between themselves. 9. If selected to participate in the Youth Stage, each Band and/or Performer will be emailed an event stage plan which they must complete and email back to the Organiser, by Friday 19th October, 3 weeks before the event. 10. PRIVACY: By voluntarily providing your personal information in this document you consent and agree to the collection and use of your Personal Information as deemed necessary by the Organiser to administer and promote the Youth Stage, including the disclosure of your Band and/or Performer name and age/s. Personal contact information will be used to contact the Bands and/or Performers. No personal information will be sold or distributed to third parties.
1. The Band and Performers will perform on the relevant Performance Day stated above, exact time to be confirmed by the Organiser or stage manager. 2. The Band and Performers will provide their own instruments and equipment. Equipment supplied on the day includes: Microphones, Drum kit (not including sticks, snare and cymbals), Bass amp, two guitar amps. Guitar cables are not included.3. The Band and Performers must be fully clothed and appropriately dressed at all times. 4. The Band and Performers agree that they will not use profanity during their performance.5. The Band and Performers agree that they will not use rude or inappropriate lyrics. The audience will include people of all ages, and songs must be appropriate for children to hear.6. The Band and Performers must not use any language that is deemed offensive or discriminatory (racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.), or referencing to drugs or alcohol.7. The Band and Performers must comply with any reasonable direction from the Organiser or any stage manager on the performance day.8. There will be an opportunity on the day for the Band and Performers to promote themselves, at a designated marketing table, by way of flyers, stickers, badges etc. To be distributed free of charge. As well as selling CDs of their music. The Band and Performers are responsible for providing and promoting these materials on the performance day, and for covering any costs incurred from sourcing these materials, including providing their own monetary float or EFTPOS for use in selling CDs.9. Each Band and Performer is responsible for their own equipment, and no responsibility will be taken by the Organiser or any stage manager for damaged or lost equipment/property. We recommend that you label your property very clearly, as verification will be needed for you to collect lost property set aside by the Organiser.10. Performance times per Band and/or Performer must be a minimum of 15 minutes and maximum of 25 minutes. The Band and Performers must be able to perform a set of at least 15 minutes and maximum of 25 minutes.
