Girls Empowered, Inc., a nonprofit that provides empowerment programs to girls from elementary through high school, is facilitating a Girls Leadership Program. The purpose of this program is to provide incoming 7th-9th grade girls with the skills and confidence to become leaders in school and in the community. This program is geared toward motivated girls who have a desire to be leaders. They will be working in teams throughout the week, including on a community service project, which will require them to put their leadership skills into practice and spend some time each day after camp asking for help from family, friends, neighbors, etc. Past community service projects have included collecting nonperishable food for a food pantry and painting kindness rocks for struggling teens. Teams will engage in a friendly competition to see which team can collect the most items. It is important that all girls are active participants in order to not let their team down and parents/guardians are supportive of their efforts.
The camp is facilitated by professional staff with degrees in psychology and education fields. There will also be outside presenters from other fields. It is being held Monday, July 14th to Friday, July 18th, 2024 from 9 AM to 12 PM at Peace Valley Park (230 Creek Rd., Doylestown, PA 18901). There are limited spots. We ask that participants are able to commit to attend the entire week of camp unless there are extenuating circumstances. Please complete the registration form below (one per participant). We will contact you after receiving this completed registration form regarding payment. The cost of camp is $260 and is required to hold your child's spot. Girls Empowered believes all girls, regardless of financial circumstance, should be empowered. If you need financial assistance, we do have limited scholarships based on financial need.
