SANID Petition

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continue their sustained assault on human rights and freedoms, including targeting human rights activists, enacting repressive laws, and using the criminal justice system to eliminate the cle rights movement. These policies have led to the closure of civic space, severe restrictions on online and offline freedom of expression, and the criminalisation of peaceful dissent.

In light of these grave human rights violations, we are calling on all NGOs to sign a petition to release prisoners of conscience and ease restrictions on civil society in the UAE. We are also calling on the UAE authorities to stop all violations against these individuals and to amend its laws to comply with international human rights standards.
