The Women in Physics and Astronomy (WiPA) group at the University of Minnesota would like to invite you to “Life after Undergrad”, an event for undergraduate women in physics and related fields. The event info is as follows:
When: 6:15-9:15pm on Monday, October 3rd
Where: Physics & Nanotechnology Building on the UMN - Twin Cities East Bank Campus
(Address: 115 Union Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455)
The event will open with an informal dinner with current U of M female graduate students, post-docs, professors, area alumni in industry/teaching jobs, and all area female undergraduates. This will be a good opportunity to meet and interact with other women in your field.
After dinner we will have a short presentation introducing our panel speakers, their occupations and the paths taken after undergraduate education. This will be followed by a panel discussion on graduate school, research, teaching, and physics careers in industry. This will be an excellent opportunity to ask questions about graduate school applications, networking, job searches, etc.
If you plan to attend, please RSVP below by Monday, September 26th. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact us at
wipa@umn.edu.
