LTU 1019 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM PROPOSAL
Any member of the Lawrence Teacher’s Union is eligible to complete a Professional Development Workshop Proposal, outlining a Workshop or series of Workshops that they will facilitate for other LTU members. The proposal will be reviewed by the Professional Development Committee. If approved, the Workshop will be scheduled, then listed on the LTU 1019 Professional Development Calendar and marketed to other LTU members. The Presenter will facilitate the Workshop, and administer a Post-Workshop Survey to all participants. The presenting member will receive a stipend to compensate them for their time, and any resources necessary for the Workshop, paid for out of LTU funds.
VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS: Until the conclusion of the COVID-19 pandemic, all Workshops will take place over Zoom, using the Presenting Member’s LPS Zoom account. (This provision will likely require the approval of LPS). Once schools resume full in-person learning, the Presenter will have the option of offering the workshop virtually or in-person.
STIPENDS: Presenting members will be compensated for 3 hours of time for each 1 hour of Workshop time, at the contractual rate ($35.48). For example, for a 1 hour workshop, the Presenter will receive a stipend of 3 hours of time at the contractual rate.
