Buy vs. build for web features
Gone are the times when building a web application meant building everything ourselves. Error monitoring, authentication, and even full features like live video chat can be bought instead of built. These web features can just be popped into the frontend code without having to set up additional backends or databases. But we still write a lot of this code ourselves. Why?
Which features have you bought for web apps already? (please separate multiple names with commas or write "None") *
Why did you buy instead of building in that specific case? *
Please think about a situation where you built a new feature in house instead of buying it. What was it? *
Why did you decide against buying it? *
Which frontend framework do you mainly use? *
