The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is committed to promoting and strengthening equal opportunity in education and research. In contribution to the delivery of this strategic objective, a programmatic capacity-building workshop entitled the "Women Advancement Forum: International Exchanges, Research & Academia " (WAFIRA), was conceptualized as a 3-day-training programme for female academics and researchers, in 2014, and will continue in 2016 with enhanced delivery in collaboration with universities in Nigeria, Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Togo.

WHO CAN ATTEND?
Female DAAD and German Alumni as well as other excellently qualified emerging female academics (minimum: Master Degree) from Nigerian Institutes of Institutions of Higher Education.
Participation fee:
N 4.500 for Postgraduates
N 9.000 for PhD holders to senior researchers
Discount for ALL participants from UniLag: N 4.500
Fees are to be paid via bank transfer after being nominated as participant.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS
The primary selection criterion is the quality of the essay submitted, but assessors will also be looking at having a diverse group of participants (career stage, academic discipline, home institution). Successful applicants will be notified through email on March 20th, 2016.
Maximum: 100 participants. Reserved spaces for DAAD and German Alumni.
