The Summer Feeding Service Program (SFSP) is a federally-funded and regulated program that provides no-cost meals to children and teens under the age of 19 years during the summer weeks when school is not in session.
This summer, due to the non-congregate feeding flexibility from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), our department will be providing a unique meal service in which meal pack kits will be made available for eligible children for consumption at home. Meal pack kits will be distributed weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays beginning June 4 through July 26, 2024 at the following locations and times:
Tallapoosa/Waco Distribution Locations & Times:
Tallapoosa Ball Park (Broad Street): 8:30 AM - 8:45 AM
Riverside Estates Mobile Home Park: 9:15 AM - 9:30 AM
Waco City Hall: 10:00 AM - 10:15 AM
Buchanan/Bremen Distribution Locations & Times:
Buchanan City Train Depot: 8:30 AM - 8:45 AM
Corinth Baptist Church - 9:15 AM - 9:30 AM
Bremen Commons (parking lot of Stacy's Dance Academy): 10:00 AM - 10:15 AM
**Please note: Meal packs will not be available for pick up July 2 & 5, 2024**
One of the regulations of the SFSP is to ensure that the duplication of meals does not occur. Please know that through the SFSP all eligible children are allowed to receive 4 breakfasts and 3 lunches on Tuesday meal distribution pick up; and 3 breakfasts and 4 lunches on Friday meal distribution pick up - providing a total of 7 breakfast and 7 lunches each week at no-cost to any child or teen under the age of 19 years. In order to operate this program with the utmost integrity, we are seeking your cooperation and understanding in our efforts to feed more children.
If you would like to take advantage of this meal service method, please complete this form. It is necessary to complete the form in order for our department to know how many meals to prepare each week. In addition, we must have documentation measures in place to help ensure our program is being conducted with the utmost integrity. Please only complete one form per household; you only need to complete the form once. In order to reduce food waste, your submission will be deleted after 2 consecutive weeks of failing to pickup a meal pack.
