The Theatre Week Tour De Theaters to explore DC and Virginia theaters is going on its second ride! The free community bike ride led by Theater J Artistic Director Adam Immerwahr will visit some of the great theaters (and bicycle paths) from DC to Virginia. Strap on your bike helmet and explore the diversity of the DC theater community.
This will be a relaxed-pace, 16 mile ride with a 9:30am (check-in), going until approximately 2pm. We will begin at Arena Stage. This is a NO DROP RIDE. Please arrive at Arena Stage, the ride start location at 9:30am with a helmet and bicycle lock. The ride will depart at 9:45am. Snacks will be provided at stops along the route, and riders will have an opportunity to purchase a beverage or snack at Busboys and Poets for a one hour “rest stop” in Shirlington, Virginia—please note you will need to lock up your bicycle in Shirlington, so please bring your own lock.
You have the option to stay in Shirlington and see the 2:00pm matinee performance of Passion at Signature (purchase tickets directly from Signature). Participants who stop to see the fantastic musical will be given directions on how to bicycle back.
All riders will sign a waiver at check-in. Please note that if you are using a bicycle-share, there will not be opportunities to dock it along the ride—you will need to rent it for the entire ride period.
Participants under 18 years old will need a parent/guardian signature at the time of check-in.
