Celebrating Muslim Women
We are excited to announce that Community Policy Forum will be hosting an event in Parliament to mark Islamophobia Awareness Month (IAM), kindly sponsored by Naz Shah MP.  

This year's IAM theme centres on #Muslim Stories. Join us as we celebrate the inspiring stories of Muslim women & women from all backgrounds!

We have an exciting panel lined up for the event:

Naz Shah is the Labour Member of Parliament for Bradford West. She is Vice-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on British Muslims, and Co-Chair of the APPG on Muslim Women,

Baroness Meral Hussein-Ece is a Liberal Democrat member of the House of Lords. She was awarded an OBE in 2009 for services to local government and was made a life peer in 2010. She is also the first woman of Turkish-Cypriot origin to serve in either house of Parliament.

Anum Qaisar is the Scottish National Party Member of Parliament for Airdrie and Shotts. She is also Shadow SNP Spokesperson for Levelling Up.

Anneliese Dodds is the Labour Member of Parliament for Oxford East. She is currently Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities, as well as the Chair of the Labour Party.

Rizwana Hamid is an award-winning journalist & filmmaker with over 35 years of experience. She is currently the Director of the Centre for Media Monitoring.

Bismha Afzal is the current Schools Lead at Educate Against Islamophobia (EAI), where she is responsible for tackling Islamophobia through the production and dissemination of educational materials for schools and pre-school settings across the UK.

Amina Shareef is an assistant Professor at Goldsmiths, University of London. She researches anti-Muslim racism, Muslim women, the hijab, Muslimness, and the War on Terror. She is active as a community organiser, working to tackle Islamophobia.
