Science Center buildings are open (meaning exterior doors are unlocked) Monday-Friday 7am-6pm, excluding observed holidays which can be found here: https://www.smith.edu/about-smith/hr/benefits. All Science Center Buildings exterior doors (Bass, Burton, Ford, McConnell, and Sabin Reed) have OneCard access for students, faculty, and staff.

If you have a large scale event that will take place when the buildings are usually closed AND hosts a large number of guests from outside of the college, you may request that the exterior doors be programmed to be unlocked for your event via the form below. We'll review your request and confirm within 7 days of receiving your request.

We need to balance convenience with security. For events that will take place when the buildings are usually closed and are limited to the Smith community, we ask that you remind participants to bring their OneCards to enter the building. For events with a small number of outside guests, please plan to meet them at the door to let them in. Do not prop doors open.

If you find you need to cancel your event, please notify csc-access@smith.edu as soon as possible.
