The Campaign
Introduction
You are a 1st level adventurer who has been summoned to the remote town of Baragrad, deep in the Witchwood, to attend the funeral of Professor Petyr Tarakov. His daughter Navenka has informed you of his untimely death and your name in his will.

This campaign draws on classic horror tropes in a homebrew setting.

Barony of Ravenholm
Tales are told throughout Theradrys of shadowy figures that lurk in dark corners—stories recounted at children’s bedsides feature bestial creatures that come out only when the moon is right, and fireside legends speak of otherworldly beings beyond reckoning, whose very existence is more than the human mind can bear to know. These are the legends that explain where the blood of the family cow went, and why clerics spend so much time ensuring the proper rites are observed at gravesites. One can write them off as simple, scary stories, but in the barony of Ravenholm, in the Witchwood groves, everyone knows the truth of the things that go bump in the night.

Rules and Other Info
Theradrys Campaign Setting
Theradrys is a campaign setting that includes three large countries, six city states, and ample unknown wilderness. The setting includes four religions, many gods, and seven ancestries.
Characters
Players should have a connection to Professor Tarakov, who was formerly a history scholar at the University of Relstadt.

Experience is milestone based.

Statistics will be point buy.

Your character will be expected to form a group, work with others, generally follow the story, and act in the best interest of your fellow players.

Character concepts will be finalized during a session 0.
Time and Day
Games will be played on Fridays from 6:00pm to 10:00pm CST.
Rules and Expectations
We will use Roll20 and Discord to communicate.

The game will have a relaxed environment where we focus on the story, characters, and teambuilding. This is not the place for rule masters or hardcore combat enthusiasts.

There will also be NO sexual or graphic torture content. This includes flirting with NPC and each other. Combat may be described, even gross, but in a brief and respectful way.

The game may include some homebrew rules, mostly relating to critical failures and successes, crafting, magic items, and downtime. We focus on having fun first and the interpretation of the rules leans in that direction as long as it is not at the expense of other players enjoyment.
Players
We are looking for 2-3 additional players who are friendly, engaged, and interested in making new friends. Our group puts a lot of effort into our characters and game, we would love to meet new friends for years to come.

Players should be from a time zone close to CST and be English speaking.

We are long time friends who are between 25 and 35 and politically moderate. We go by our real names and our group includes male and female members.

We would prefer to avoid players who play in several other campaigns.

New players that have read the PHB and are comfortable speaking in character are welcome!

Backgrounds
Players may choose from backgrounds featured in the Player's Handbook and the Basic Rules. Other backgrounds may be chosen with DM approval
Unearthed Arcana and Player Made Content
UA content may be used on a case by case basis with DM approval. Player made content outside of flavor changes is unlikely to be approved due to balance concerns.

Thank you!
Over time we have realized that the key to a great game is having players who make a great team. We understand that not everyone can have fun playing with everyone else.

While we wish we could respond to all inquiries that is not always possible. We will contact interested players who we think would be a good fit for our group for an interview within 24 hours.
