Trans⚧Mission Application (Cycle 1)
TransMission is a small scholarship of funds available to applicants who identify within the trans & non-binary communities to offset medical, surgical, legal, and/or social transition-related expenses which are not otherwise covered by insurance. TransMission is a program provided by The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Services Center in Westchester County, NY.

TransMission runs two cycles per year:
⚧ Cycle 1- Applications open Dec 28, 2020 - Feb 28, 2021*, funds awarded in March 2021
*note: complete applications must be received no later than 11:59pm on Feb 28, 2021
⚧ Cycle 2- Applications open September-October, funds awarded in November 2021

To apply for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
1) Identify as a member of the transgender, non-binary or gender diverse communities
2) Be at least 18 years of age
3) Reside within the United States or a U.S. Territory
4) Be able to provide proof of funding need, by means of written or video statement**
**funds can either be used for assistance with a previous or upcoming transition-related expense

TransMission is open to anyone presently residing within the United States or a U.S. Territory, regardless of resident or citizenship status. However, The LOFT will give priority to residents of the Lower Hudson Valley Region of New York:
Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Sullivan, or Ulster Counties

All applications will be reviewed by a panel of trans & non-binary community members. Please apply only once in a given cycle. TransMission strives to be accessible to as many community members as possible, to ensure fair access to this program please only apply for the funds you currently need.

TransMission maintains a secure database of award recipients and amounts awarded. TransMission operates with a capped amount per community member, currently set at *$500*. Total lifetime awards are not to exceed this amount. Therefore, if you are applying for $275 this cycle and are in need of funding again in the next cycle, you may be awarded up to your remaining capped amount. This capped amount may change depending on funding availability. The LOFT reserves the right to increase/decrease caps based on funding and applicant interest and are not liable or obligated under previous set limits.

Applications found to be presenting fraudulent or misleading information will result in permanent exclusion from this program.
