Midway District, neighbor to Old Town San Diego, is home to many notable attractions in SD such as Kobey’s Swap Meet and Pechanga Arena.

In 2020, voters approved an increase in development of the area surrounding the arena and adjacent parking lot. There are currently 5 bids that either place emphasis on the stadium or increased housing.

The Mayor of San Diego has already cut two bids out of the selection process, one of which provided the most housing. "The staff recommendation shows how much Mayor Todd Gloria is prioritizing a new arena on the land, at least in the case of one of the bidders, over affordable housing."

We are advocating for the city to provide housing where it is viable.

This form is a general form to engage folks in the development process of an area that can provide SO much housing for local San Diegans and students! We have the unique opportunity to band together and make our voices heard on important housing issues!
