This one-day training is designed to dig deeper into the geology and groundwater flow in Southwest Wisconsin, discuss the basics and limitations of depth to bedrock and karst mapping, and provide real case studies of groundwater concerns and examples of local approaches to concerns.  The afternoon field session includes a quarry visit (pending) and site visits to discuss methods of sinkhole and karst feature identification.

The audience for this agency training is DNR drinking water staff (public/private), DNR CAFO and runoff staff, LWCD/NRCS staff and consultants in Karst areas.

DNR attendees will be direct billed. NRCS staff will be direct billed (confirm approval with supervisor).

The registration fee of $25/person covers the training and lunch. ($35 if after 4 pm Wed Nov 13). The fees includes any applicable credit card surcharge.

The event will start at the UW Platteville Pioneer farm's Technology Center, 29200 College Farm Road
Platteville, WI, and then participants will drive/carpool to the field sites and quarry.

PLEASE NOTE
  • Program runs from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Lunch will be provided. 
  • If you are registering more than one person from your office/agency/business, complete a new form for each person
  • We will be guests in a quarry and will be on private landowner property. A release may be required to attend the afternoon session.
* ALL no-shows who do not cancel at least 48 hours prior to the training may be charged the fee.
