iiate Teacher Excellence Awards - 2018
The Institute of Industrial Arts Technology Education (iiate) Teacher Excellence Award program was established to identify outstanding technology and engineering teachers who serve as models for their colleagues and who could form a leadership core to affect change in the field.

The IIATE Teacher Excellence Award is one of the highest honours given to technology and engineering teachers. This award is presented in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the profession and their students. The IIATE Teacher Excellence Award provides public recognition for recipients deemed to possess outstanding qualities in technology and engineering education at the local through to international levels.

Applicants must complete all FOUR parts of the application process, which should be completed using the online form/file upload:

1· A summary that describes the candidate's Evidence of expertise in teaching

2· A summary that describes the candidate's Evidence of technology and engineering education practices

3· Four (4) colour photos in jpg format showing the applicant interacting with students. Photo releases must be provided for any photos submitted.

4· A 500 word statement setting out their personal philosophy and commitment to Industrial Arts/Technology Education

• GOALS: Include your goals for technology and engineering education.
• THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: Describe the ways you organise and manage the learning in your technology and engineering classroom.
• SIGNIFICANCE: Identify the ways your teaching meets the needs of your students.
• ASSESSMENT: Explain how student progress is assessed in your class.
• PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP AND INVOLVEMENT: Include your involvement with professional associations at the local, state, national, and international level.

• FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS: Include content outlines for at least one course taught.
• CREATIVITY: Describe the use of design and creative processes in your classes.
• STEM EDUCATION: Identify ways your teaching helps students understand the importance of technology and engineering on people, society, and the environment and how technology and engineering relate to citizenship, consumer, and career roles
