Chinese New Year Fair Video Contest
Contest Description
The Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) of San Diego invites children and young adults age 18 and younger to submit a video describing what Chinese New Year means to them. This video contest is part of a two-day event taking place on Feb 24-25, 2018, in downtown San Diego to celebrate Chinese New Year. Entries will be reviewed and the winners will be selected by the Fair Planning Committee (Committee) consisting of community volunteers. All decisions are final and prize money are at the discretion of the Committee and CCBA. Please review the qualifications carefully, including rules & guidelines below.

- Entrants must submit a video describing the significance of Chinese New Year to their personal life - "What does Chinese New Year mean to you?"
- Videos must be a minimum of 30 seconds and maximum of 2 minutes.
- Video entries must be developed by, collaborated with and/or feature children and young adults age 18 and younger.
- Video entries must be one of the following formats: mp3, mp4, .3gp or .wmv. (Smartphone videos acceptable.)
- Judges will select three winners: 1st place will receive $300, 2nd place will receive $200, and 3rd place will receive $100.
- Entries will be evaluated on these criteria: relevance to Chinese New Year theme, compelling story-telling, and originality.

- All forms and videos must be received by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, February 16, 2018.
- Winners will be notified by email no later than February 24, 2018.
- If the selected winner is unable to be contacted within 30 days after being selected, the prize will be forfeited.

- No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest.
- Content must comply with all local and federal laws of the United States. Content must not: promote illegal behavior, support discrimination or prejudice of any kind, invade the privacy of any person, or be deemed otherwise inappropriate.
- Entrants grant CCBA and the Committee the right to use their names, photographs, statements, and video submissions for promotional purposes without notification or further compensation.
- CCBA and the Committee maintain the right to reproduce, reprint, distribute, or use the entries for promotional purposes on their website or other events and channels without further compensation.
- By accepting the prizes, winners agree to hold CCBA, the Committee and affiliated personnel of the 2018 San Diego Chinese New Year Fair harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of such prizes.
