Dear MHS Families,
It's hard to believe, but it's time to register for our final Session 5 of the Mt. Holly School After School Program. Session 5 begins Monday, April 25 and runs until Friday, June 10. There are 5 ASP sessions each year, and students need to register for each session. We look forward to current ASP students continuing with us, as we also welcome new students to our afternoon program.
***Enrollment for Session 5 is due before April Break by Friday, April 15, in order to attend Monday, April 25.
*You must complete one form per child.
Session 5 will feature two special Programs:
MT HILLY KIDS RUN CLUB:
Katie Hollebeek, founder of the local Mt Hilly Running Club and Ms. Jenna (PK teacher) will be leading a student running club on Mondays and Wednesdays. All students are invited regardless of experience or ability level. Students will have the opportunity to set goals, train together, and cheer each other on as they build sportsmanship, perseverance, pace, and an appreciation of running as a way to maintain a healthy lifestyle. **Students will need to have sneakers to participate in Run Club**
FARM & WILDERNESS/LAKE NINEVAH FOUNDATION
Kelly Berman from The Farm & Wilderness/Lake Ninevah Foundation will continue to join us one Friday per month to share experiences and lead activities related to Vermont's wildlife and ecology. So far this year, we have gone hiking on Lake Ninevah trails, honed our map skills, learned about bird songs, migration, and the Great American Bird Count, met the Farm & Wilderness rabbits. We look forward to the spring activities Farm & Wilderness will share with us.
Our After School program offers students opportunities for fun, exploration, and social-emotional and academic growth. Each day provides multiple opportunities for outdoor play; including playground games, free play, group games and sports, and other creative and athletic games of students' choice. We also offer Open Library for reading, art, and STEM games, and activities.
-During this Spring session we will continue with an emphasis on outdoor activities and appreciating the unique features of the ever-changing Vermont seasons. We're looking forward to:
continued Fort Building, Flower & Pumpkin Gardening, and bringing out the Scooters and BMX bikes!
-In addition, each day we also offer a specialized enrichment activity. Based on student choice and interest, some of these activities may overlap to other days as well. (Students do not need to sign up for these activities in advance).
