We invite our attendees to share their stories and experiences that are not discussed in mainstream platforms. APAAC aims to empower our attendees who feel marginalized and silenced by oppressive social constructs. Workshop sessions include, but is not limited to, anti-blackness, mental health, and LGBTQ issues.
This year, we are opening up the conference to high school students. We would like to give students the opportunity to attend the conference, as well as participate in the high school component, which will consist of a student-led campus tour and panel. The high school component will take place during Workshop Session 2 and 3. For the agenda of the conference, see here: http://apaac2014.weebly.com/agenda.html
The conference logistics are as follows:
Date: February 8, 2014
Location: UC Irvine Student Center
Time: 9am - 5pm
Registration fees will be completely waived for high school delegations. However, we do ask you to let us know ASAP if any of your attendees end up dropping from your delegation. It is imperative that we know immediately if the size of your delegation changes. We are holding you accountable for bringing the size of your delegation you specified in this registration form. In addition, mandatory liability forms will be sent to the delegation leader after completion of this registration form and completed forms will be turned in the day of the conference.
Through listening to their voices, we hope that our attendees are empowered by the work being done in the community. If you have any questions or concerns, APSA's High School Outreach team can be reached at email@example.com. Thank you and we hope to see you soon!
