We are Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines (YACAP), a national alliance of young individuals and youth formations committed to climate action and justice. Convened in 2019, YACAP has led nationwide youth strikes, initiated climate education initiatives with schools and frontline communities, and organized donation drives and relief efforts for areas impacted by climate-related disasters. YACAP is the Philippine counterpart of the global Fridays for Future movement. With the upcoming national elections this May 2022, it's important for the Filipino youth to register a challenge to our future leaders with regards to the pressing climate and environmental issues our country faces. As such, YACAP, alongside its member organizations and regional chapters, have formulated the Youth Climate Agenda 2022, which we believe encapsulates the core demands of the Filipino youth when it comes to addressing said problems.
