Board Recruitment Fair - individual registration
We're about 6 hours away from the event...do register below, know that we might not have a pre-printed nametag for you (still check in when you arrive), and CLICK HERE FOR ALL THE LOCATION INFO in case we don't have time to email it to you:
If you are a person of color curious about joining a nonprofit organization board of directors (or equivalent) in the Twin Cities, we are delighted to have you attend the first ever Board Recruitment Fair for people of color on August 3rd, 6-8pm at Hamline University (1536 Hewitt Ave, Saint Paul MN). Come for the whole time or just a bit. By registering in advance, we will have materials including nametag, contact info labels, and tip sheets prepared for you. We will also provide light refreshments and are planning to have some fun prizes! After you register we will send a confirmation email that includes more detailed information (location, parking, transit, etc.).
We have over 120 local nonprofit organizations with board openings hoping to meet YOU. All of the organizations present have committed to pairing you with a board buddy (an existing board member to meet with you outside of the formal board meetings to support you as a new board member).
At the fair, you will meet staff and board members from the organizations, and decide if you are interested in continuing the conversation to see if it’s a good fit – no pressure to decide on the spot. Organizations will be clustered by type – you won’t have to visit all of them!
Our goal is to introduce hundreds of people of color to potential board openings. Please feel free to come with friends - invite them! Each person should register separately.
If you know of organizations who want to table, they may register here (limited spaces available):
We look forward to seeing you on August 3!
